Reuben was born and raised in New Zealand, with roots from Jamaica and the Netherlands. This diverse background has given him a unique perspective, which he applies to his work. In addition to English and Jamaican Patois, he is fluent in Japanese, a language he began teaching himself at age 19.

After moving to Japan in 2022, Reuben started his career as a study abroad agent in Tokyo and was promoted to a team leader in 2023.
