一早く、Top tier 外資系ファンドの日本採用についてご依頼を受けました。今回は同社が世界で大きなプレゼンスを持つセカンダリー投資チームでの募集です。LP持ち分ではなく、GP持ち分に対するセカンダリー投資です。

日本国内では外資系、日系GPファンドがPE投資を積極化する中、各GP持ち分ポートフォリオのExitやIPO時期が重要になっております。

New Senior Associate/VP Role for Secondaries Business
A new position is opening for a Senior Associate to VP for the secondaries business, positioned as a new headcount.

Overview:
This company is primarily a secondary investor, not a traditional control buyout fund.


In practice:
Usually minority / non-control exposure
Sometimes they become a large shareholder economically.

Less focused on operational control
More focused on:
liquidity provision
pricing complexity
restructuring existing PE ownership
solving LP/GP liquidity issues
They specifically emphasize “transformational GP-led transactions” and “direct secondary transactions.”

求める経験

Candidate Profile for Secondaries Role
Key Skills:

Must have strong modeling and technical skills.

Needs to understand the GP landscape.
Good English is mandatory.

Experience:
Open to all sectors, though the company is less strong in industrials.
The secondary side focuses more on healthcare, TMT, and business services.
The role is heavily execution-focused. Portfolio management is not required at this level.

Deal sourcing is not a necessary skill for now, as the head of team handles origination.

Ideal Profiles:
- Private Equity background is highly a welcome to deal / interface with other GPs frequently.
- Investment bankers who want to switch to private equity, particularly those from sponsor coverage groups, are also a good fit due to strong technical skills.
