Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the full investment cycle including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, and execution of large-cap buyout transactions.
- Conduct detailed industry and company research, market analysis, and prepare investment memoranda.
- Support senior team members in structuring and executing transactions in collaboration with global deal teams.
- Work closely with portfolio companies on value creation initiatives post-acquisition.
- Engage with advisors, consultants, bankers, and other stakeholders across Japan and internationally.

Fund Strategy & Investment Details:
Their investment approach, which includes a primary global fund of more than $20 billion. This fund is cross-sector, and the Tokyo office will operate as sector-agnostic, focusing on large buyout deals with a minimum check size of around $150-200 million, extending to large cap buyouts.
They also manage a mid-market fund for smaller opportunities. The Tokyo team will eventually have access to both the global fund and an Asia-specific fund, which is planned to be raised once the Tokyo office is fully 'up and running.'

Required Experience

Requirements on associate: 

- Requirements for associates include at least 2-8 years of experience, from IBD/Consulting firm / PE. 
- Language proficiency is critical: fluent Japanese is mandatory for all roles, and cultural immersion is expected.
- Consultants applying for associate roles must be prepared to pass a model test, demonstrating their ability to build an LBO model.
