TEAM OVERVIEW:
They are seeking to hire a Japanese candidate to its Private Markets Portfolio team to work out of the Firm’s Tokyo office.
The Portfolio team has successfully operated in the Firm’s Private Credit business over the past years. As Private Markets AUM continues to accelerate, and the Investment Portfolio expands, the Firm this established a team dedicated to managing trading performance for its Asia Private Equity and Infrastructure strategies. Following a successful initial implementation, the Firm is now looking to scale the team in Asia to build-out wider coverage for its Asia Private Markets portfolio.

About This Role:
• Newly created team, report directly to the senior in Hong Kong
• Seeking candidates to take care of deals in Japan
• Role is more of a junior function
• Focus on valuation of company business model, more on the financial side
• In the future, work alongside deal team and join portfolio/board meetings to obtain latest update

Role Responsibilities:
• Support deal team in regards to middle office functions, e.g. to portfolio valuation, portfolio monitoring, DD, validate portfolio companies’ business model and financial statement
• Integrate with the deal team and able to perform day to day tasks
• Create, write, present reports and presentations from portfolio company’s data analysis in Japanese (for most cases)
• Analyse portfolio company’s business model, create and show an independent POV of the portfolio company sourced by the deal team with financial statement, etc.
• Work function is alike that of COO or CFO

Required Experience

Ideal CDD: Associate – VP level(Open for the age)
• Able to explain business model, well informed in corporate company management, able to report latest updates to investors, able to work alongside deals team and gain their trust

Ideal experience either below:
- IBD/Big4 Consulting/FAS - Valuation/DD team
- PE/VC/Infrastructure GP fund side or funds monitoring team, working under CFO
- Front office IBD/PE candidate with strong financial skills who’s OK to switch to middle office
- Equity research candidate who wants a middle and back office role.
- Credit analyst or credit risk candidate, same as above mind set

Language Skill :
• Native Japanese, Business English(Most of interviews will be held in English)
• CDD will need to communicate daily with deal teams who are mainly Japanese, and local portfolio companies in Japan

*CDDs need to be able to not only build business model, but also communicate with portfolio company with comprehensive skill set
